Over 60% of UK food waste happens at home. The edible parts of food waste generated in households is associated with at least 18 million tonnes of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

You can help reduce our impact on the environment by avoiding food waste. You can do this by using up your leftovers for lunch for the next day, or by cooking in batches. If you cook in batches, label it so you're able to tell what it is in the future.

Lunchbox leftovers can also remove the hassle from working out what you'll have for lunch, and can be reheated by popping it into the microwave.

Although this is a low impact activity on an individual basis, by working collectively, it has a higher impact on reducing carbon emissions.
