Share your car with others, either by sharing a regular commute with someone else as a passenger, or by lending your car out to other drivers when it's not being used. There are many informal ways of doing this with friends and family, or you can list your car on an 'airbnb for cars' website for a rental fee and all the hassle and insurance is taken care of. You can use a standard operator like Hiyacar, Turo or Karshare, or set up a 'closed loop' with Hiyacar where only people you want included (e.g. neighbours, friends) are.

Car-sharing means that fewer people will need to own cars or second cars, and there won't need to be so many cars made. Depending on the number of people who share your car and ideally sell their own, this can have a significant impact, as owning and driving a car is the carbon equivalent of taking 20 flights to Rome - 2.6tons a year.
